Freelance work – Application requirements

 

From time to time proofreading.de is looking for qualified, professional proofreaders and translators for freelance work with the following qualities:

  • German native speakers with academic training in proofreading specialist German texts, with a good understanding of the world of business and technology.
  • English native speakers with academic training in proofreading specialist English texts.

In addition to linguistic qualifications, a great deal of flexibility in terms of time is essential, along with the right technical equipment and knowledge of the required software.

We currently require:

  • Qualified translators whose native language is (preferably American) English for translating German marketing texts into English, and can also work on larger projects all day as necessary.
  • Qualified English native speakers who work freelance full-time in the field of proofreading/editing. Access to the latest Microsoft Word (docx-format) software and Adobe Acrobat (or another equivalent program to work in PDF files), as well as knowledge of all text editing tools (tracking changes, auto-correction, inserting comments, etc.) is absolutely necessary. The ability to work in open-source word processing programs is appreciated.
